Ordering Timelines
When Should I Order My Wedding Dress?
Planning ahead helps ensure a relaxed and joyful bridal journey. At Catherine Deane, we offer both ready-to-ship styles and pre-order pieces, meaning you can find something beautiful whether your wedding is next year or just around the corner.
Below is a simple guide to help you understand when to order and what to expect depending on your timeline.
9–12 Months Before the Wedding
The Ideal Timeline
For the widest choice of styles and sizes, we recommend ordering 9–12 months before your wedding date.
This allows time for:
• Creation and delivery
• Alterations with your chosen seamstress
• A comfortable buffer before the big day
Ideally, you will receive your gown around three months before the wedding, giving 8-10 weeks for alterations. Please note that delivery windows are estimates. Delivery dates vary per item, and unique delivery date information is added underneath the ‘PREORDER NOW’ button on the specific product page.
| Order Window | Estimated Delivery |
|---|---|
| December – February | July |
| March – May | October |
| June – August | January |
| September – November | May |
1–5 Months Before the Wedding
Shorter Timeline Brides
Choose from ready-to-ship styles available online. If the button on your preferred product says “Add to Cart”, this indicates that the product is in stock and ready to ship.
• Orders are dispatched within 7–14 working days
• Delivery typically takes 1–2 working days once shipped
For the best selection, we recommend browsing OUR FAVOURITES and the LAST CHANCE TO SHOP sections.
Less Than 1 Month Before the Wedding
Last-Minute Brides
While selection is a little more limited, we will always try to help you if your wedding is around the corner.
Order an in-stock style online. We recommend browsing OUR FAVOURITES and the LAST CHANCE TO SHOP - and email our customer care team at customercare@catherinedeane.com after placing your order if your timeline is extremely tight.
We will do our best to prioritise dispatch where possible.
Alterations
Almost every bridal gown requires some tailoring to achieve the perfect fit.
We recommend allowing 8-10 weeks for alterations, however your chosen alterations expert will be able to guide you accordingly.
