Rewearability Is The Ultimate Sustainability
At Catherine Deane, sustainability begins with the choices we make at every stage of design. Today, over 40% and growing of our garments are made using luxury eco satins and laces, our packaging is created from sustainable and compostable materials, and we are continually looking for ways to lower our footprint through more thoughtful practices.
But for us, sustainability goes beyond eco materials alone.
In an industry often defined by one-time wear garments, we believe rewearability is the ultimate sustainability. Designing pieces that can be worn again and loved for years to come is one of the most meaningful ways to reduce waste and encourage more conscious bridal wardrobes. Through our bridal separates, we create wedding pieces with a life beyond the aisle.
Here are some ideas from the Catherine Deane design room to inspire you to rewear your bridal look, because for us, the more you wear them, the more stories they live to tell.
Rewearability Through Bridal Separates
If you know us, you know that we adore Bridal Separates! We purposefully design this collection with versatility in mind, making it easier to rewear your wedding dress in a way that feels natural and personal. A lace top styled with jeans and heels for your first wedding anniversary date, a silk skirt worn a special event with the girls, or tailored bridal trousers reimagined for the boardroom. Bridal Separates offer you styling versatility far beyond the aisle.
Alterations That Extend the Life of Your Garment
Sustainability can also look like adapting a piece over time. Small alterations like adjusting a hemline, refining a silhouette, or restyling a detail can help your bridal pieces slip more effortlessly into your wardrobe to be enjoyed for many celebrations to come.
Rather than preserving a garment untouched, we love the idea of allowing it to evolve with you. So many of our brides let us know how much they loved wearing their bridal looks, so much so that they did not want to take them off at the end of the day. Minor alterations to your wedding gown can ensure that you get to enjoy this work of art for years to come.
Conscious Craftsmanship Designed to Last
For us, sustainability is inseparable from craftsmanship.
We believe timeless design is inherently more wearable. That’s why we create high-quality, impeccably made garments designed to stand the test of time. Garments that become keepsakes, living in your wardrobe long after the wedding day.
We also believe conscious production matters. We don’t overproduce. We make in small runs and produce what is ordered, helping to reduce excess while maintaining the quality and care each bridal garment deserves.
A More Thoughtful Way Of Doing Bridal
Eco fabrics matter. Responsible packaging matters. Lowering our footprint matters.
But most of all, we believe sustainability lives in a garment's afterlife. In how often it’s worn, how long it’s kept, and how much meaning it carries over time.
