Natasha & John

The Best First Date, Five Years Later

An intimate Brighton wedding filled with natural light, delicate details and a Catherine Deane bridal separates look that helped Natasha discover exactly what her bridal style could be.

Nearly five years before their wedding day, Natasha and John met for their first date at a casual restaurant in Brighton.

Natasha returned home that evening and immediately messaged her mum and brother: “I don’t want to alarm anyone, but I just had the best first date of my life.”

From there, everything felt easy. They both knew early on that they had found something special. When John eventually proposed, there was no elaborate plan or faraway destination. It was an ordinary day, at home, with just the two of them.

For Natasha, it was perfect.

In a lovely full-circle moment, the night before their wedding, they returned to the same Brighton restaurant where it had all begun.

Finding Her Bridal Style

Natasha entered wedding dress shopping without a clear picture of what she wanted to wear. Then she discovered Catherine Deane.

“I fell in love with the separates.”

At the Catherine Deane London Boutique, Natasha chose the Liz Skirt, Darla Bodice and Anya Topper, creating a look that brought together the effortless movement of bridal separates with the delicate details she naturally gravitates towards.

In fact, she didn’t have to search for long.

“The outfit I chose was the second thing I put on and I fell in love!”

The beauty of separates gave Natasha the opportunity to create a bridal look that felt considered and individual without losing the romance of the occasion.

Her accessories followed the same delicate approach. Tiny pearls were woven into her hair to echo the beautiful pearl detailing of the Anya Topper, while sparkling Dune shoes appeared beneath the flowing Liz Skirt as she moved.

Simple, feminine and with just the right amount of sparkle.

An Intimate Brighton Celebration

Natasha and John always knew they wanted their wedding to be small.

Rather than planning around a particular theme or colour palette, their priority was bringing all of their most important people together in one place.

They chose the Courtyard at No.124 by GuestHouse in Brighton, drawn to a space that immediately felt like them. Its beautiful indoor-outdoor setting and abundance of natural light created an intimate backdrop for the celebration.

With the focus firmly on the people around them, the result was a wedding that felt relaxed, personal and true to who they are as a couple.

A Walk Down the Aisle to Remember

For Natasha, one moment stands out above the rest.

As she walked down the aisle with her brother, she looked towards John and saw him beginning to tear up.

She did too.

It was a simple, emotional moment that captured exactly what their intimate wedding had always been about: the two of them, surrounded by the people they love most.

After finding a Catherine Deane look she fell in love with almost immediately and creating a wedding that felt completely their own, Natasha’s advice for future brides is fittingly simple:

“Don’t settle, and be true to yourself.”
