We got married in a tiny chapel called St Sava at the top of a mountain, overlooking the village of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro. We are very lucky to travel often, but when we visited Montenegro last year, we instantly fell in love with its rustic, untouched charm. We always knew we would get married abroad and it was Montenegro that came to mind straight away.

We met over 10 years ago when we worked for the same company. We both left the company at different times, but stayed in touch, and 2 years later we realised it was more than friendship - it took a while! 

The moment you said yes!

We got engaged during a surprise birthday ski trip that Darren booked for me in Kitzbuhel. It was on the last day, when we were literally about the leave for the airport (not the best timing). We were having a drink in a bar overlooking Lake Schwarzsee when he said we should get our last selfie of the trip. That’s when he got the ring out of his pocket!

A friend and personal stylist introduced me to the collection and bridal separates as an idea - I loved it instantly! I very much knew what I wanted from the moment I got engaged, and these Catherine Deane designs were exactly what I imagined myself in! I went to the London Boutique, and I just loved every minute of being there! I’m an interior designer, so interior spaces and the way they make me feel are really important to me, plus I notice every detail! The light and airy space made me feel instantly at ease, along with the beautiful scent that fills the air. The staff are relaxed and make you feel comfortable, giving honest options to help guide your decisions.

Honeymoon plans?

We spent a week after the wedding in Montenegro as a mini-moon, and we are heading to Sri Lanka in December for some well-needed downtime and to celebrate our first few months of marriage together.
