We met five years ago thanks to a quick swipe on a dating app. Our first meeting went so well that we decided to stay friends, but the next time we saw each other, the sparks were unexpected and undeniable. From that moment on, everything just clicked. Conversation has always been effortless, and even our silences feel comfortable.
We’re naturally quite private people, so for the first eighteen months we stayed happily in our own little bubble before introducing each other to our families. When our children finally met, they bonded instantly, which only confirmed what we already knew. Travelling together, both as a couple and as a family, has been one of the greatest joys of our relationship and has given us the perfect balance of adventure and togetherness.

Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal separates, and accessories did you choose?
I wore the Virginia Skirt, Alea Bodice and Rosalind Topper.
Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
A good friend of mine who knows my style told me there was only one boutique I needed to visit. I followed her advice and booked an appointment at the Catherine Deane Boutique in Wapping. The moment I stepped inside, I fell in love with almost everything.

What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
Every gown and separate was beautiful. I loved the elegance, simplicity and femininity of each design. Katie showed me around the boutique and was an absolute dream, offering the best advice while making me feel completely at ease. The whole experience is about so much more than finding a wedding dress. This talented team helps create treasured moments and makes you feel more incredible than you ever imagined on one of the most special days of your life.
Tell us about your bridal accessories (think shoes, hair accessories, and your bridal fragrance) and what drew you to these.
I wanted to feel like myself on the day, just a little more elevated. I've always loved yellow gold jewellery, so with the Rosalind Topper I paired beautiful pearl earrings from Monica Vinader. My gold snakeskin Jimmy Choo heels were a last-minute purchase and, thankfully, surprisingly comfortable. To finish everything off, I wore Jo Malone Tonka & Myrrh, which is my everyday fragrance and the perfect way to feel completely like myself.

Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
We wanted everything to feel classic and elegant, with just a touch of festive magic as we were marrying in December. Our florist suggested a palette of reds and whites, and I happily trusted her expertise. She absolutely nailed it. We kept our stationery crisp and white so that everything flowed beautifully and allowed the florals to really take centre stage.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
We always knew we wanted something low-key, and a registry office felt like the perfect fit for us. Credit where credit is due, James did all the research on that one. For our wedding breakfast, we imagined close family and friends gathered together, sharing great food and lots of laughter. The Phene, just around the corner from Chelsea Old Town Hall, was the perfect choice. It was cosy, beautiful and filled with natural light.

After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
I’m not sure I’m qualified to give advice, but whenever I had to make a decision, I asked myself one simple question: “Will this make me happier?” If the answer was yes, I went for it, and that approach never let me down.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
We kept our wedding small, with only close family and friends, and it was perfect. During the meal, I kept catching myself looking around the table, seeing everyone laughing, smiling and sharing stories. Watching the people we love connect so effortlessly brought me so much joy. It’s a feeling I wish I could have bottled up and kept forever.
