Your love story: Tell us a bit about how you met and how this led to your engagement. Feel free to share your engagement story with us, too!
We met while working together in the Art Department on the BBC drama Father Brown in the Cotswolds. It might sound glamorous, but our very first task together involved clearing cow poo from a field the director had chosen for filming and burning crop circles into the grass. We both still work in the Art Department, although thankfully we say no to jobs like that now!
After eight wonderful years together, Tom proposed during a trip to the Komodo Islands in Bali.
Tom proposed on a beautiful pink beach surrounded by incredible shells, crystal-clear water and the most surreal pink sand. It genuinely felt like stepping into a scene from the Barbie movie. It was completely unexpected, incredibly romantic and the perfect reflection of our love for adventure together.

Which Catherine Deane gown/bridal separates, and accessories did you choose?
I chose the Heather Gown (available through our US Last Chance to Shop collection).
Did you find your Catherine Deane outfit online, at our London Boutique, or at one of our stockists?
I discovered my gown at a Catherine Deane pop-up event hosted by The Aisle Edit in Greater Manchester.

What does it mean to you to be a Catherine Deane Bride / Why did you fall in love with the brand?
I knew from the moment I saw the Heather Gown online that it was the one. I was looking for a lightweight dress that would work beautifully in the Cyprus heat, without heavy layers or restrictive boning. As soon as I tried it on, my face completely lit up and no other dress stood a chance.
For me, being a Catherine Deane bride means embracing a more relaxed, romantic and personal approach to bridal style. The Heather Gown was everything I had dreamed of. I wanted something that would move beautifully in the sea breeze, whether I was walking along the shoreline or running across the sand. A backless detail was a must, and the pearl embellishments tied in perfectly with our wedding theme of seashells, pearls and soft coastal tones.
Tell us about your bridal accessories (think shoes, hair accessories, and your bridal fragrance) and what drew you to these.
I am a complete sucker for pearls and feathers. With the pearls already beautifully incorporated into the Heather Gown, I knew I needed feathered shoes. After a lot of searching online, I discovered the perfect pair in a Charlotte Mills sample sale. I don’t think they ever actually went into production, which made them feel completely unique to my wedding day. I’ve always felt that Charlotte Mills and Catherine Deane share a similar aesthetic - romantic and timeless, but with a playful twist.

Did you have a specific theme/color palette for your wedding day - if so, what drew you to this mood?
Our colour palette was dusty blue, white and gold. We love seashells and pearls, and wanted to create a subtle seaside-inspired theme without it feeling too obvious. The colours felt elegant, timeless and perfectly suited to our beachside setting.
How did you decide that your wedding venue was the one?
L'Chateau immediately stood out because of its beautiful private setting and the opportunity to sneak away for sunset photographs on the beach. We loved the idea of having a quiet moment together, just the two of us, in the middle of what would naturally be a busy and emotional day. The combination of the venue, the sunshine and the beach made it an easy decision.

After going through the wedding planning and gown shopping journey, what advice do you have for future brides?
Choose the dress that makes you feel the most like yourself. The one that feels comfortable, makes you smile the biggest and fills you with excitement when you see yourself wearing it. Your first reaction matters. Other people will always have opinions, but those opinions are based on their vision, not yours. I remember someone saying my dress wasn’t quite “bridal” enough because it wasn’t a big lace ballgown. I’m so glad I trusted my own instincts because on the day, I felt more bridal than I could ever have imagined.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding day?
There are honestly too many moments to choose from. Everyone says it will be the best day of your life, and they’re absolutely right. We were so lucky to have an incredible venue and amazing planners, which meant everything ran smoothly and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy every moment.
The ceremony itself was incredibly special, sharing our love story with our family and friends while standing there with the biggest smiles on our faces. And of course, our sunset photos on the beach gave us a rare moment to pause, reflect on the day together and soak in just how magical it all felt.
