Your love story ~ how did you meet, how did you know you've found the one?

We met right at the beginning of COVID. Cameron (my now husband) was a new starter at work, and I was training him. I remember having an end-of-day meeting, Cameron was asking a question, we locked eyes, and he stumbled over his words. The rest was history. It really was one of those electrifying moments. As we were in the heart of COVID, we couldn't go on your classic first date. We ended up going for a hike around Malham Cove and talking about everything we love/hate and what type of life we want to build.

Your Engagement story:

Cam and I have always collected shells whenever we've gone on holiday. Ranging from European Islands to even Blackpool Beach! We were on holiday in rural southern Greece, and we had seen an octopus in the sea. Cameron had called me over to come and have another look at it. As I turned around, there he was, in the ocean with my beautiful engagement ring in an open shell, waiting to propose.

What does it mean for you to have been a Catherine Deane Bride?

I studied Textile Design at university, so I have always appreciated fashion and design. I have always loved Catherine Deane's designs. I have followed her on my social media for so long and knew I wanted a Catherine Deane design for my wedding. I loved the uniqueness of the separates, how you could make any outfit your own and how you can take your pieces beyond bridal. I fell in love with the pearl topper and satin trousers and booked in at The Aisle Edit to try these on. When I arrived, I tried on multiple outfits. The Kellyn Gown was the first outfit I tried on. I fell in love. Going from trousers to a gown (maybe I'm more traditional than I thought, haha), but again, another great thing about Catherine Deane, you're able to express yourself whilst still being in traditional bridal white.

Which Catherine Deane items did you wear on your wedding day?

Did you visit our London Boutique, purchase your gown online, or through one of our global stockists? We'd love to hear how you found the one!

The Aisle Edit in Oldham - I know this has since shut down, but wow, what an incredible space, the converted church was stunning!

Tell us a bit about your bridesmaids' dresses:

I really wanted the bridesmaids to feel as comfortable and as confident as possible. I set them a brief of rust/burnt orange and maxi in length, and they chose their own dresses. The different tones of rust and fabrics worked so well together and brought out all the different tones in the flowers, too!

Did you have a wedding style? What inspired this theme?

We went for a retro 70s/disco ball theme. The first party Cam and I attended was a 70s disco dress-up party, and we LOVE funk/soul/disco music. We named our tables after classic disco songs. The disco balls and rust orange fabric looked amazing together!

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding journey?

2 memories really stand out in our wedding journey. The first was booking our Venue. We walked into The Venue Bowers Mill and just knew that this was the place we were getting married. From the industrial feel of the mill to the idyllic setting in the countryside. The other was trying on my dress - the first one I tried on! Instantly falling in love and knowing that that was going to be the dress I walked down the aisle in.

The groomsmen also picked their own suits. Cam's brother decided to design his own suit, but did not tell us or show us any pictures! He finally sent through a picture of the fabric - it was velvet and looked salmon pink! As this was a week before the wedding, you can imagine how stressed I was! I finally saw the suit a few days before the wedding, and thankfully it was the right colour! It clearly didn't look well on his phone!
